7 Ways to Drain BPA From the Body

How to eliminate endocrine-disruptors from your system

By Heather Callaghan

Why should someone care about endocrine-disruptors? The effort to walk away from damaging chemicals becomes easier when one sees what happens when disrupted hormones lead to major life-altering consequences.

The endocrine system is a huge deal – when in balance, everything is wonderful. When slightly out of whack, life is Hades. We didn’t need a thousand individual studies to list off all the symptoms Bisphenol-A can cause; like ADHD-type symptoms, obesity, devastating sex/reproductive changes, brain impairment and so much more. It passes the blood brain barrier, accumulates and is way more dangerous at lower levels than previously thought. When the endocrine glands get messed with, it’s dethroning the regulator of all those hormonal functions.

No one specifically asked for hormone-scramblers on the consumer market, like decades of heavy pesticide dousing, plastics, cleaning chemicals, fragrance, cosmetics, dental sealants, body care, processed food and its packaging. For many reasons, it’s here…

We don’t have to despair. Where regulatory agencies and Big Chem fail, we have the power of knowledge and choice. Complete avoidance would be great. But in order not to worry about exposure so much – it’s cleanup time! It’s so easy – you might already be doing it.

1.) Get thee some probiotics – pronto. Not talking celebrity endorsed yogurt here. Fermented foods like kimchi, natural sauerkraut and kefir. A refrigerated, concentrated probiotic supplement helps. Drink kombucha. Bifidobacterium breve and Lactobacillus casei were found to extract BPA from the blood of mammals and were excreted out through the bowels. That is very good news!

Beneficial bacteria strengthen the gut and break down chemicals like BPA so they can be cleared out. As a bonus, they break down pesticides, another major endocrine-disruptor. Probiotics are becoming well known for breaking down endocrine-disruptors in the body.

2.) Black tea is found to reduce BPA toxicity. Drink loose leaf – black tea has many, many other health benefits besides reducing BPA.

3.) A great naturopath can make this process a lot easier and faster; first by targeting the endocrine system and chemical levels in the body. They can find the perfect supplements that both detox and strengthen this system, restoring hormonal balance. Think of how many issues that kind of help could clear up. Some people feel so much better after this process that they didn’t realize just how poorly they really felt before!

4.) Often found in alternative practices (but also many spas and salons now) are high-powered ionic foot baths that pull just about everything from the feet. It’s really something to see what that water looks like afterward. Limit one per week so as not to detox too quickly and cause a healing crisis. Ten weeks in a row will have you feeling great and should cut down on your healthcare costs. What a fantastic way to finally get a leg up on your health and clear years of toxic build-up.

5.) Sweat it out. When researchers started testing different ways that BPA bioaccumulates in the body, they discovered that BPA was detected in sweat and thought that method should be considered in newer research projects as a way to track accumulation, like when urine is tested. They found that: “Induced sweating appears to be a potential method for elimination of BPA.” Many wellness centers now have steamless saunas to help with sweat detox.

6.) There is a homeopathic available that strengthens and detoxes the endocrine system of BPA. It includes a potentization that cancels out the presence of BPA and chemicals from plastics. It’s available on this page; scroll down and look for Plastic/BPA Detox. You’ll also see that it includes homeopathic ingredients to strengthen the endocrine system.

7.) Quercetin is a flavonoid found in fruits, veggies, leaves, tea and whole grains. Like black tea, it ameliorates toxicity from BPA. It is also available in supplement form. It should probably come as no surprise that quercetin is great for allergies!

Our Chemical Lives And The Hijacking Of Our DNA… by Catherine Frompovich is a huge eye-opener of the damage done from exposure to all the environmental chemicals we encounter everyday; and it includes solutions.

Any time you fight with detoxification and nutrition you are strengthening and empowering yourself against environmental toxins. Best of all, you will strengthen your immunity, your best friend for remaining healthy in a toxic world.
