Curcuma mask: Benefits and recipe

Curcuma is highly valued and used in Ayurveda for thousands of years and has a triple role.

It is used as a spice, a medicine, but also as the main ingredient for skin care.

This effective mask can be used by anyone.

The benefits are the following:

  • glowy skin
  • encourages circulation
  • cleans and improves the skin
  • makes the skin smoother
  • removes redness
  • fights acne
  • removes wrinkles

If used twice a week, wrinkles can be further reduced.

Ingredients:

  • ½ teaspoons of curcuma powder
  • 1 teaspoon of flour (customize according to skin type >>see below<<)
  • ½ – 1 tablespoon of yogurt
  • 2 – 3 teaspoons of honey (for oily skin)

Curcuma is, of course, the main star of this mask, but also the other ingredients are very valuable and nourishing for the skin.

Cereal flour helps reduce dying the skin, just as the yogurt neutralizes the effect of the intense yellow color of the curcuma on the skin.

Rice and chichkpea flour are especially good for oily skin or acne prone skin.

If you have normal, dry or mature skin, use finely ground oatmeal or almond flour to hydrate the skin.

Oat is rich in vitamin B that keeps the skin healthy and vitamin E, which slows down the aging process. Oat soothes the skin, reduces inflammation, soothes itchiness, and acts as a nutrient on cracked skin.

Honey acts regeneratively, anti-inflammatory and moisturizes dehydrated skin. It has natural antibacterial properties and brings balance to oily skin.

Yogurt is rich in probiotics that bring back the fresh look and elasticity, it is also rich in nutrients and hydrates the skin.

Preparation and use:

Mix the curcuma and the flour, adding just as much yogurt or honey as needed. The mask needs to be thicker.

Apply mask to clean face and neck in thin layer.

Avoid eyebrows and hair because turmeric is a natural remedy for hair removal!

Let the mask work for 15 to 20 minutes.

When you feel it tightening on the skin, rinse it using gentle, circular movements, like when you are doing a peeling.

If your face is dry, apply a few drops of hydrating oil such as coconut oil or almond oil after the mask.

Hydrating oil will retain the existing moisture in the skin, soften it, nourish and smooth and act preventively against wrinkles.

It is best to use this mask in the evening before bedtime because turmeric can temporarily stain the skin, with a light yellow tint.

But do not worry – the yellow color will disappear until morning, and only a gentle, plump glow will remain on the face.
