Three Books Tell a Tale for Survival

By Peter Tocci

Due to the sciences of biology, biochemistry, and anatomy & physiology, our general view of biological systems, including ourselves, is that we’re made of chemicals elements, molecules, tissues, organs and systems, including the circulatory and nervous systems. And it’s well known, obviously, that chemicals can poison/sicken and kill biological systems.

True though all that is, other qualities don’t get due respect for their extreme importance: We are electric. And we are magnetic (some of us more than others 🙂

If we weren’t electric/conductive, we couldn’t ‘get the chair.’ If we weren’t magnetic, the MRI couldn’t work. Had these facts been uppermost in mind as technology advanced, society might have done some things differently.

1) In 1998, a book was published by pioneering medical researcher Robert O. Becker, MD: The Body Electric: Electromagnetism and the Foundation of Life

Becker found that self-generated electromagnetic fields (EMF) comprise the director/mediator of operations in biological systems — all regulatory and metabolic processes. He was able to partially regrow the severed limb of a rat. He also developed an apparatus using a very small electric current and silver gauze pads to achieve scarless healing of even very serious, otherwise disfiguring, wounds.

Unfortunately for him and society, his discoveries threatened special interests. For example, what very profitable medical industry would be threatened by scarless healing? Long story short, he ended up in virtual exile, instead of being hailed as the innovator he was. Not an uncommon tale in human history, by the way.

2) On a different note, perhaps even more amazing, but based in the same principle, a recent best-selling book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ed Yong brings new insight to “the foundation”: An Immense World.

In An Immense World, author and Pulitzer Prize-winning science journalist Ed Yong coaxes us beyond the confines of our own senses, allowing us to perceive the skeins of scent, waves of electromagnetism, and pulses of pressure that surround us. We encounter beetles that are drawn to fires, turtles that can track the Earth’s magnetic fields, fish that fill rivers with electrical messages, and even humans who wield sonar like bats. We discover that a crocodile’s scaly face is as sensitive as a lover’s fingertips, that the eyes of a giant squid evolved to see sparkling whales, that plants thrum with the inaudible songs of courting bugs, and that even simple scallops have complex vision.

I recall being stunned to learn years ago that flowers send very subtle electrical signals to bees. One question might be, how would we rate our awareness of, and sensitivity to, the world around us, compared to the abilities of the ‘lower’ species?

Many of us do appreciate Nature, but are we techno-beings — individually, but more importantly, collectively — missing the intimate communion found in many indigenous cultures with the natural world? Are we in that sense Nature alienated? If so, have there been unfavorable consequences?

Another aspect of Becker’s work that displeased “interests:” There were, and are, consequences from trampling on these finely balanced natural fields with artificial ones. But there were scientists in the know about harm long before Becker’s time. Going back to the 1950s. Military…

The threat was widely understood internationally 2-3 decades before 2G: International scientific community, governments/agencies, and of course, militaries. There’s absolute proof that conniving and ruthless disregard (which continues) led to commercial telecom/WiFi. Please see the section History of Official Awareness in What Do YOU Mean When You Say “5G”?

3) Our third book addresses the subject in science papers, but especially with biophysics, not often enough employed in determining wireless effects. It goes deeper than biology, biochemistry and A&P — to the foundation: Electromagnetic Fields of Wireless Communications: Biological and Health Effects

Many people won’t understand all the biotechnical jargon in the introduction below (called the “Abstract” in scientific publications), but it’s not necessary for the meaning to come through loud and clear.

For some reason, scientists tend to make interminable paragraphs. This is/was a (small!) example. I’ve taken the liberty of breaking it up a bit. This Abstract, sent to me in an email, differs a bit from the first one seen at the link.

ABSTRACT

A plethora of studies show that exposure of living organisms to man-made polarized and coherent electromagnetic fields (EMFs), especially in the Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) and the microwave/Radio Frequency (RF) bands, may lead to oxidative stress (OS) and DNA damage. DNA damage is associated with mutations, cell senescence, cell death, infertility, and other pathologies, including cancer.

ELF EMF exposures from high-voltage power lines [part of Becker’s work that earned him attacks – pt] and complex “RF” EMF exposures from wireless communication (WC) antennas/devices [phones, laptops, tablets, games, etc – pt] have been associated with increased cancer risk. Almost all man-made microwave/RF EMFs, and especially those employed in WC, are combined with ELF components in the form of modulation, pulsation, and random variability.

Thus, in addition to polarization/coherence, the existence of ELFs is a common feature of almost all man-made EMFs. Polarized/coherent ELF EMFs are predicted to induce dysfunction of voltage-gated ion channels (VGICs) in cell membranes through the ion forced oscillation mechanism, and this has been verified by many experimental studies.

Dysfunction of VGICs disrupts intracellular concentrations of critical ions, such as calcium, sodium, potassium, etc. This condition initiates biochemical processes leading to OS by reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction. Such processes include a) increased calcium signaling, leading to nitric oxide (NO•) overproduction by the nitric oxide synthases (NOS) in various locations in the cell, and superoxide anion, overproduction in the mitochondria; b) activation of NADPH/NADH oxidase in the plasma membrane, leading to increased production of superoxide anion; and c) dysfunction of the Na+/K+ pump (ATPase) in the plasma and internal cell membranes, triggering mitochondrial ROS productio

At least these processes may result in excessive OS, leading to DNA damage and related diseases, including infertility and cancer. Thus, it seems that there is a plausible explanation for the genetic damage and related effects found to be induced by man-made EMF exposures as reported by many experimental and epidemiological studies.

Critical scientific information has been kept from Nature-alienated technociety at large, its existence denied and dismissed by the “captured” FCC capturedagency_alster.pdf. Captured (a polite word) holds for international bodies.

The connection between chemical poisons and illness is clear. Insufficiently understood – and why it’s not as apparent with EMF – is that it’s not a poison, or toxin. It’s more akin to Radio Frequency Interference — like static in your AM/FM radio from an unshielded device — an electric motor, for example. The FCC is very strict about electrical/electronic devices interfering with each other. So, if life got the same respect as electronics, we’d be much better protected. But even that doesn’t mean all life would be safe.

The greater survival threat by far is to Nature, not humans.

To be honest, the EMF scientist community overall has been trying for (too many) years to appeal to authority for new exposure guidelines that would protect humans (and more recently, Nature). It’s a brick wall. The ‘fix’ is in. Many seem to feel some improvement is better than none. But no power level (called power flux density or just power density) safe for all life forever has been unequivocally established. Enormous risk is being taken — a dire threat to Nature and to human fetuses and kids especially.

There are many willing to accept this dire threat for money, toys and convenience. Scary?

In language non-techies can understand, Giving Life the Electric Chair — The Plain Physics & Biophysics of Phone & WiFi Radiation discusses the why and how of all this, supported with science references. Key ones, from book author/editor, biophysicist Dimitris J. Panagopoulos, PhD. It also explains why power density alone is a technically inadequate measure; but even if valid, why no safety level can be established with studies and testing in any case.

Is the scientific community remiss in its calls for new safety guidelines, using a ploy created by ruthless intent to get wireless off and running? Is there outside influence/pressure on status, jobs, careers? I can say that not one of many scientists asked as of this writing has responded to requests to please refute Electric Chair…

Nor has anyone responded to Barrie Trower’s 9/2013 request when quoted for them:

I ask for any scientist(s) from industry / government to ‘humiliate’ me live ‘on-air’ with their expert knowledge by answering one question: ‘What is the safe level of microwave irradiation for the ovarian follicles during the first 100 days development of the embryo?” – Barrie Trower, Wi-Fi – A Thalidomide in the Making. Who Cares? (Page 12).

There’s a critical distinction between biological effects directly caused by the radiation (at any power level) and overt symptomologies (‘diseases’). Effects proceed under any exposure, whether or not symptoms appear at the moment, which vary depending on individuality and a complex set of circumstances. Human symptomologies go well beyond those noted in the Abstract.

Since no EM biological element/cell/ system is ‘exempt,’ the list could include just about any symptomology you wish to name. Electric Chair contains a list of those shown in the (ignored) science literature. Most of them have been around for a long time, due to known or unknown cause, so they seem ‘normal.’ RF interference is really good at it.

The connection between phone and WiFi radiation and today’s rampant disease statistics is simply not being made.

Let’s put it this way, no exaggeration, the situation is dire. If society at large does not end commercial use of wireless devices and systems, we will almost certainly perish — one way, another, or both: Ecosystem collapse, human health collapse. First-responder systems using cell towers as well.

Nor is wireless the only dire threat to both. But of all the threats, people have great potential power to make a significant difference — the wallet. We have literally bought ourselves into the mess we’re in today, pursuing Thing Happiness. And stopping 2G-4G will stop 5G, and maybe put a big dent in Mad Elon’s (and others’) satellite threat. Survival will require selflessness, solidarity and … Wireless Anonymous?

Wonder is, we haven’t yet extinguished Nature and ourselves. But all indications are, we’re way down that road, and in a rather oblivious and accelerating manner. Technociety is an SUV barreling along in a dense fog. Up ahead is a brick wall with a sign reading, End of the Road.
