Although many people recommend Coconut Oil Pulling, after watching the video Stop oil pulling & heal your teeth the easy way, I decided to switch to wheat grass juice powder. The video recommends the Amazing Grace Organic Wheat Grass Powder. However, a number of Amazon reviewers commented that the quality of the product had declined. So, I chose the Lemon Wheatgrass Juice Powder from Dr. Eric Berg because the Amazon Q&A shows this response comparing the two products:
Dr. Berg’s lemon wheatgrass is JUICED First then dried to a powder, discarding the cellulose that humans can’t digest at all. A whole grass powder is cheaper and less potent because it is full of its very own cellulose, left as an inexpensive filler. This product dries grass blades that are subsequently milled into a powder. Primarily it is made from wheatgrass dust. Juice Powder is more concentrated and has a cleaner smoother taste, and has better bioavailability because the nutrients have been unlocked, and extracted from the cellulose. Smell the difference… Open the bottle and smell… Hay Dust or Juice?

Juice powder has up to 10 times higher nutrient concentration than grass powder. I used to get a one-ounce shot of wheatgrass juice from my health food store. It was very bitter, but felt very powerful. Dr. Berg’s Lemon Wheatgrass Juice Powder tastes very refreshing. His videos below further show why it is much more powerful than wheatgrass juice. Now, I start my day with a one ounce-glass of his Lemon Wheatgrass Juice Powder instead of oil pulling or wheatgrass juice!
Ann Wigmore Introduced Wheatgrass to America
“Ann Wigmore (1908-1994): Her Life and Legacy” explains that Ann was from Lithuania. In 1925, at the age of 16, Ann moved to America to join her parents who were living in Massachusetts. When Ann later got cancer, she relied on the holistic approach she had learned from her grandmother in Lithuania. She introduced wheatgrass to the US when she used it to cure her cancer.
Wheatgrass has been called one of the healthiest plants on Earth. It provides an array of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, enzymes, and antioxidants. It boosts energy and metabolism, reduces inflammation, rebuilds damaged tissue, and restores alkalinity to the body.
Ann founded the Hippocrates Health Institute and the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute which use wheatgrass as the foundation of their cancer programs. Ann lectured on her ideas in the US, Canada, and Europe. Healthy at age 96, Ann died in 1994 from smoke inhalation in a fire.
Ann wrote about 25 books including:
- Why Suffer?
- Be Your Own Doctor
- The Wheatgrass Book: How to Grow and Use Wheatgrass to Maximize Your Health and Vitality
The Amazon Description of Why Suffer? says:
Here is the remarkable and inspirational autobiography of Ann Wigmore, an internationally recognized name synonymous with the discovery and use of raw and living foods for nutrition and health. This fascinating first-hand account includes stories from Ann’s early childhood, watching her grandmother heal the sick in war-torn Central Europe.
Engrossing behind-the-scenes anecdotes reveal how Ann formed her philosophy of healing and became inspired to create the Hippocrates Institute, the first health center that relied on the use of sprouts and wheatgrass for healing. This now-classic autobiography weaves a compelling narrative that shows how Ann’s religious faith supported natural healing and how her positive nature and independent spirit helped her overcome every limitation she encountered. It demands a new respect for the early pioneer of the movement, even from those who already hold her in high esteem.
Wheatgrass Articles and Videos
Ann Wigmore used wheatgrass to cure her cancer because the chlorophyll in wheatgrass oxygenates the cells. The article “Dr. Otto Warburg Dead at 86; Biochemist Won ’31 Nobel Prize” shows that Dr. Warburg of Germany won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his discovery that cancer cannot survive in an oxygenated environment. Chlorophyll also stops the growth of unfriendly bacteria.
Wheatgrass is considered a superfood because it is especially high in Vitamins A, E, and E, and contains the B vitamins – including B12 which is especially important for vegetarians. Wheatgrass is a rich source of iron, magnesium, selenium, and calcium. It contains all the essential amino acids, is rich in antioxidants, minerals, and essential fatty acids. Of its 17 amino acids, eight are considered essential, meaning your body cannot produce them and you must obtain them from food sources. Some research shows that wheatgrass and its components may help reduce inflammation.
The articles and videos below show that Wheatgrass Juice is a complete source of protein and has more bioavailable protein than steak! Two ounces of Wheatgrass Juice equal five pounds of raw vegetables! Wheatgrass is a liver cleanser that gets rid of toxins in the body, reduces free radical damage, strengthens the blood, provides you with higher energy, improves day and night vision, and reduces pain of rheumatoid arthritis. Wheatgrass Juice helps the body detox and chelates heavy metals like mercury safely. It helps relieve constipation and insomnia.
