Why You Need Vitamins D3-K2 Urgently!

Dr. Kate Rheaume-Bleue is the author of the revolutionary book Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox: How a Little-Known Vitamin Could Save Your Life. Dr. Kate explains that the legendary dentist Dr. Weston A. Price discovered the importance of nutrition to dental health in the 1930s when he traveled the world in search of people with healthy teeth. Dr. Price, author of Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, found that people in Europe, Native America, Africa, Australia, and around the world who were still eating their original diets had zero to 0.3% cavities or other dental problems. However, when they switched to the Western diet, they developed the same problems we have today. That allowed Dr. Price to determine the specific foods that support dental health.
Nutrition: Key to Health of Teeth and Gums
Dr. Price discovered that fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K2 were the key factors in nutrition for people around the world who had healthy teeth and gums. Dr. Price referred to Vitamin K as “Activator X” which he found is abundant in the milk, cheese, and eggs of animals that eat grass. Today, most of our cows and chickens are fed grain – which is not a natural food for them. So, most of our milk, cheese, and eggs are deficient in Vitamin K2. That means we are also deficient in this critical vitamin – with the major consequences shown below. Dr. Price founded the National Dental Association which became the research section of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Kate explains that Vitamin K2’s role is to guide the calcium to the bones and teeth and away from the arteries. So, she warns that people who take calcium supplements without taking a Vitamin D3/K2 supplement risk having calcium deposited in their arteries where is can cause a sudden heart attack or stroke. At the same time, their bones may be deprived of the calcium needed to prevent osteoporosis.

Dr. Jorgensen says that in the 1940s, dentists (at the American Dental Association) voted on three possible causes of cavities and came to a consensus – one that continues today. The dentists rejected the work of Dr. Weston Price who documented in his world-wide research that poor dental health (including cavities) is caused by poor nutrition. They also rejected the work of Dr. Melvin Page who showed that hormones affect saliva which keeps your teeth clean.
Instead, the dentists agreed on the “Acidogenic Theory” which says cavities are caused by bacteria and acids. The theory says bacteria are attracted by sugar in your mouth and produce acid (plaque) which creates cavities. So, according to this theory, the way to prevent cavities is to avoid sugar, brush your teeth, and floss. However, although $20 billion are spent each year on tooth care products, over 90% of Americans have teeth and gum problems today. There is more dental disease today than in the 1940s.
Dr. Jorgensen points out that the real prevention of cavities is not just avoiding sugar, brushing, and flossing. She explains that the fat-soluble vitamins A, C, E, and K2 must be in your diet to make your teeth strong enough to resist bacteria and thus decay.

Good Sources of Vitamin K2
Dr. Kate explains that the best food source of Vitamin K2 is the Japanese natto, Brie cheese, and Gouda cheese from grass-fed cows. She recommends Pate de Foie Gras (goose liver paste). New York Natto is available on Amazon in four flavors. Although Dr. Kate and Will Revak of OraWellness said they don’t like the taste of natto, New York Natto smells like coffee and has a nutty flavor!
Functional Dentist Dr. Steven Lin is the author of The Dental Diet: The Surprising Link between Your Teeth, Real Food, and Life-Changing Natural Health. Vitamin D3/K2 Supplements
The Thorne D/K2 supplement is linked to under Dr. Kate’s interview with Will Revak. It is a liquid D3/K2 that is also recommended by a nutritionist I consulted. Dr. Eric Berg’s D3/K2 supplement is a tablet. The liquid is probably preferable because it goes directly into your bloodstream. Note: The Vitamin K2 Revolution site warns: “Caution! If you’re taking blood thinning medicines, such as Warfarin or Coumadin, don’t take vitamin K supplements that include K1. This is because it may affect how well your blood clots. Be very careful since many products labeled K2 can also include K1. If you are taking Coumadin, you may want to look at new research that shows that you should be taking about 45 mcg of the MK-4 version of K2, but please discuss this with your cardiologist before going this alone.
Some people complain of slight heart palpitations when adding K2 to their daily protocol. If you are one of those people, make sure you shift to a K2 [here is the Carlson Labs brand on Amazon] that contains only MK4 as it does not cause heart palpitations and is more tolerable.”

Dr. Yonetani, who calls herself a “microbe farmer,” says each tablespoon of her natto contains a billion of the healthful bacteria Bacillus subtilis, a count that is “orders of magnitude greater than what you would find in a typical probiotic food.”

To make the product, Dr. Yonetani rents a room at the back of the Organic Food Incubator, a cooperative space for artisanal food producers in Long Island City, Queens…. “It’s got some nice coffee notes,” she effuses, with the discernment of a wine connoisseur. She offers me a spoonful. The taste is not at all unpleasant, a cross between chopped liver and cottage cheese. “Every batch comes out a bit different,” Dr. Yonetani said.

In the interview with Dr. Goodman, Dr. Mercola says that he grinds egg shells for a source of calcium for his smoothie. The composition of egg shells resembles our teeth. Because egg shells contain massive amounts of calcium and 27 other minerals including magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, potassium, iron, sulphur, and aluminum, they can help treat osteoporosis and help remineralize teeth – if you also take Vitamin D3-K2. Half of one eggshell provides 1,000 mg of calcium –- enough to meet the daily requirements for adults. Half a tablespoon of ground eggshell powder provides 90% of the RDA for calcium. The powder relieves pain and inflammation in joints.
Use the following steps to create ground egg shell powder
- Wash the egg shells of 6-12 organic free-range eggs
- Boil them for 10 minutes
- Dry them overnight

You can buy egg shell powder in capsules, but it’s a lot more fun, safer, and cost-effective to make it yourself! You are making your own powerful medicine at home for free and have control over the ingredients and process!
Delicious, Nutritious Dessert
Add a heaping ¼ teaspoon of the eggshell powder to organic Kefir along with organic blueberries for a delicious, nutrious snack at lunch or dessert! The powder is virtually tasteless. Sprinkle on some Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and/or Ginger to makes it smell like a New Year’s Eve eggnog!
The Kefir is great for healing cavities because it has Vitamin D, Vitamin K2, magnesium, and calcium. The teeth need Vitamins A, D, E, and K2. Vitamin D helps make the calcium available. On February 23, when my restorative dentist discovered a huge cavity in my lower left wisdom tooth (Tooth 17), I came to the conclusion that it had been caused by the chocolate I started eating on August 1.
