Why Sacred Geometry Matters So Much!
By Neenah Payne
Amazon says about The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life by Drunvalo Melchizedek:
Once, all life in the universe knew the Flower of Life as the creation pattern — the geometrical design leading us into and out of physical existence. Then from a very high state of consciousness, we fell into darkness and forgot who we were. For thousands of years, the secret was held in ancient artifacts and carvings around the world and encoded in the cells of all life. Now we are rising up from that sleep, shaking old, stale beliefs from our minds and glimpsing the golden light of this new dawn streaming through the windows of perception. This book is one of those windows.
The Flower of Life shown on the cover of the book and above is the symbol often selected to represent the science of Sacred Geometry. Americans are not taught Sacred Geometry in school, even at the graduate level, and it is never mentioned in the media. The omission is glaring and impoverishing.
Sacred Geometry is the blueprint of Creation and the genesis of all form. It is the architecture of the universe on which the design of everything is based — from galaxies to our own bodies, cell division, snowflakes, beehives, sea shells, flowers, pine cones, tree branches, and storms! It is an ancient science that explains the energy patterns which create and unify all things. It reveals the precise way in which the energy of Creation organizes itself.
Sacred Geometry is a graphic description of the universe which is easily visualized and aesthetically pleasing. Great paintings like Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vetruvian Man and great architecture like the Giza Pyramid of Egypt, Gothic cathedrals, and Islamic mosques embody Sacred Geometry.
Sacred Geometry In Nature
Sacred Geometry leads to the study of the Phi aka Golden Mean or Ratio / Divine Proportion (which is expressed as 1.618), fractals, and the Fibonacci series on which nature is based – including galaxies, plants, and our own bodies. The photos below are examples of Sacred Geometry in the natural world. Note the spiraling motion in flowers, seashells, galaxies, and storms that provides the unity of design.
The short video 1.618 Phi, The Golden Ratio, God Creator of Heaven and Earth shows more.
The site Geometry Is All points out:
A shape could describe the cosmos and all it contains. One of the mysteries of the universe is why it should speak the language of mathematics. Numbers and the relationships between them are, after all, just abstract reasoning. Yet mathematics has shown itself to be particularly adept at describing both the contents of the universe and the forces that act on them. Now comes a paper which argues that one branch of the subject—geometry—could form the basis of all the laws of physics. Physicists…have long sought a “theory of everything”.
Discovering the Mind of the Creator
“Nature’s great book is written in mathematical symbols.” — Galileo
“I want to know the mind of God. Everything else is just details.” — Einstein
The ancients believed that the experience of Sacred Geometry is essential to the education of the soul as it allows us to evolve our consciousness. We learn that the universe is the canvas of the greatest Artist, Mathematician, Physicist, Architect, and Musician. An awesome, elegant simplicity underlies endless diversity!
Stephen Wolfram, author of A New Kind of Science said that all the complexity of the universe masks its structural simplicity which can probably be reduced to eight lines of code. Wolfram says in his book,
Perhaps most dramatic is that it [his New Kind of Science] yields a resolution to what has long been considered the single greatest mystery of the natural world: what secret it is that allows nature seemingly to effortlessly to produce so much that appears to us so complex.
Physicist/metaphysicist Nassim Haramein shows in his DVDs Black Hole and Crossing the Event Horizon that the underlying structure of the universe is much more elegantly simple than eight lines of code – and that the “code” has been known by civilizations around the world for millennia! Haramein’s work is the basis of the fictional account in The Technology Of God: A Quest For The Secret Of Creation.
Drunvalo Melchizedek says in The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life: Volume 1 that the universe is built on two instructions. Spirit expresses itself as a sphere. To create reality, it just moves to the edge of the sphere (circle) and creates another one! The graphic below illustrates the progression Melchizedek described. The following page shows that when the 13 major circles of the Flower of Life are connected by all possible straight lines, Metatron’s Cube is formed and is the basis of the five Platonic Solids from which the physical world is formed.
When the 13 major circles of the Flower of Life (shown on the left) are connected by all possible straight lines, Metatron’s Cube (shown in the right below) is formed.
The Profound Sacred Geometry site shows how the five Platonic Solids that define the physical world come from Metatron’s Cube. Each element in the Periodic Table is related to one of the Platonic Solids.
See the 10-minute video: Sacred Geometry 101E: Metatron’s Cube. Metatron is another name for Thoth/Hermes, the Egyptian God of writing, who said: “The ALL is Mind. The Universe is Mental”.
In The Beginning Was The Word / Sound
Many people consider science and religion to be polar opposites. The concept of “Intelligent Design” has been equated with “anti-science” So, many people think that the concept of a “Creator” is not scientific. However, Sacred Geometry and Cymatics show that there is no conflict between Science and Spirituality. Understanding the real math of the universe which is not taught in the West points inevitably to a Consciousness, an Intelligence, a Creator behind all of matter.
The video Divine Imprint//Cymatics and Sacred Geometry//Ancient Knowledge explains that the universe was created by Consciousness and Sound — which create the math of Sacred Geometry.
The science of “Cymatics” shows how physical patterns/forms are created from sound. For example, when the word “Om” is said near sand on a flat surface, the sand takes form of a Star Tetrahedron one of the five Platonic Solids. So, sounds create form and the physical universe.
The video explains that consciousness is the fundamental “stuff” of the universe — out of which matter arises. That is the meaning of the Biblical phrase, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. That does not point to a man in the sky, but to a Creator, an Intelligence, a Consciousness that generates form and life and is responsible for all of Creation.
So, the Creator is a great artist, scientist, mathematician, and foremost a great musician! Ancient Egyptians understood these principles and used sound as their medicine and also to construct the pyramids. They used sound to levitate the 2.5 million megaton blocks of the Giza Pyramid, transport them 500 hundred miles, and position them with a precision that cannot be matched today. Sound healing kept the ancient Egyptians healthy all their lives and they lived for hundreds of years — like the patriarchs of the Bible.
Because Sacred Geometry is not taught even at the graduate level in the US, most Americans are not aware of the enormous beauty, design, complexity, and simplicity of the math in our own bodies, plants, galaxies, etc. That amazing math makes the evidence of the hand and mind of the Creator obvious and undeniable. Sacred Geometry could be said to be how Consciousness subtly announces its presence in the universe. Perhaps that is why that vital information is missing in the Western world — although it was known thousands of years ago in many high cultures.
The video shows the connection between sound/vibration in the creation of matter. So, in a sense, it is music that creates the universe! That is what the phrase “the music of the Spheres” refers to.
The Big Bang: Western Creation Myth
Americans are told that the universe began with a “Big Bang”. This can be called the “Western Creation Myth”. The TED Talk David Christian: The history of our world in 18 minutes presents this view of reality which is known as “materialist reductionism”. It assumes that life arose out of matter and that consciousness is an accidental by-product of brain activity that cannot exist independently of the brain.
The problem with the Big Bang Theory is that it:
- doesn’t explain what caused the Big Bang!
- ignores Sacred Geometry and the math which define the universe from the smallest to largest
- ignores Cymatics, sound, frequency, and vibration in ongoing creation
- maintains that life evolved from lifeless matter — which is not logical or possible
- implies that life is a random accident with no purpose or meaning
- ignores the central role of consciousness in the creation of the universe and sees us and the universe as purely physical, material
- cannot explain Out-of-Body Experiences or Near Death Experiences since it believes that consciousness arises from the brain and therefore cannot exist independently of the brain
- accepts the idea the time exists rather than being an illusion as understood by advanced science, ancient philosophies, and the Space Program
Conscious Living Universe vs. Dead Material Universe
Defining the universe in material terms leads to a materialistic culture. That creates a philosophy of scarcity which leads to an economy based on fear, competition, and over-exploitation of the Earth. To view the universe as mindless creates a mindless culture in which people do not feel responsible for others or for the future. We find ourselves in a culture so blindsided by the drive for personal profit that we are dealing death on a planetary scale. This is not a sustainable philosophy.
More people are beginning to recognize the urgent need for a deeper wisdom that supports survival. We need a science that is not divorced from energy and spirit – from life. Because the new paradigm presented by quantum physics is based in consciousness, it transcends materialism and encourages cooperation and responsibility. It leads us back to the Enlightenment that defined so many other high cultures but which has eluded the West.
Max Planck, founder of quantum theory and winner of the 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics, stated in a 1931 interview,
I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness.
We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness.
When people accept the Big Bang theory of a dead material universe, they are likely to feel lonely, isolated, and afraid in the competitive world that results. So, they are likely to seek support in groups – whether they are politically, religiously, racially, or nationally based — or even gangs. The nation and the world are being torn apart now by factions – each one sure that their way is right and intolerant of the views of others.
However, when people understand that we are in a conscious, living universe that is expressed in the design of our own DNA and bodies, in flowers, trees, snowflakes, beehives, and all of nature, they are more likely to feel connected to that Intelligence that is in everything, safe, and more accepting of others who are all likewise connected.
French novelist Marcel Proust (1871-1922) said, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands, but seeing with new eyes.”
Sufi master Hazarat Inayat Khan (1882-1927) pointed out, “Living in the World without insight into the hidden laws of nature is like not knowing the language of the country in which one was born.”
Quantum physicist Amit Goswami said: “You can make sense of this world only if you base the world on consciousness. Consciousness is the ground of all being and quantum physics makes it clear as daylight.”
Sacred Geometry: Raising Consciousness
Thrive: What on Earth Will It Take? may be the most important film ever made because it provides such a clear understanding of both the causes of the life-threatening crises we face and elegant solutions. Sacred Geometry is at the core of those solutions! The film shows that Sacred Geometry is the most important technology breakthrough because it leads to free energy / zero point energy — the energy that powers the universe and could power our planet. It could free us from reliance on fossil fuels and nuclear energy which are destroying the environment.
However, Sacred Geometry is also perhaps the most important spiritual breakthrough. Knowledge of Sacred Geometry subtly, but powerfully, shifts consciousness, the paradigm. Sacred Geometry is the language of consciousness, energy, and life. Like any new language, it takes a while to learn, but it opens the mind to a new way of seeing and being in the world and universe. Sacred Geometry gives us a deeper understanding of the awesome, ingenious, and beautiful simplicity of design behind the infinite variety of forms.
In Sacred Geometry, the mind of the Creator is revealed in myriad breathtaking ways. Sacred Geometry allows us to see the oneness in all things so there is no longer a separation between science/technology and spirituality. Science and technology founded on Sacred Geometry mirror nature’s design.
Sacred Geometry engenders humility and a profound respect for the world’s ancient cultures and their high-level of technology which we have yet to achieve. Sacred Geometry allows us to see who we are, why we are here, and how we can evolve to the highest level of consciousness.
The Spirit Science videos below provide a quick and fun introduction to Sacred Geometry. They were created by Jordan Duchnycz, a freelance animator, motion designer, and game designer in Winnipeg, Manitoba who has been doing animation since he was 13 and started Spirit Science in 2011. Jordan’s videos show that the Fruit of Life encompasses 13 systems that govern all of creation from the Periodic Table to consciousness. The videos are a fun, but profound approach – and have over a million views!
It is shocking how much this account of creation corresponds with the Biblical account!
Growing Revival of Interest in Sacred Geometry
Randall Carlson is the founder of Sacred Geometry International which offers classes in Sacred Geometry. Carlson is a master builder and architectural designer, teacher, geometrician, geological explorer, geomythologist, and independent scholar. He has four decades of study, research, and exploration into the interface between ancient mysteries and modern science. It is his aspiration to affect a revival of lost knowledge towards the goal of creating the new world based upon universal principles of harmony, freedom, and spiritual evolution.
In the video below, Carlson explains that Sacred Geometry is the hidden architecture of creation, uniting all spheres of manifest phenomena, from the sub-microscopic to the super galactic. As the 2nd Hermetic Principle of Correspondence says: “As above so below” for the working of the one miracle.
Carlson says there is a revival of interest in Sacred Geometry now. For example, Robert Lawlor wrote the 1989 book Sacred Geometry: Philosophy and Practice. John Michell is the author of the 2008 book The Dimensions of Paradise: Sacred Geometry, Ancient Science, and the Heavenly Order on Earth. Ralph Skinner wrote the 2009 book Sacred Geometry: Deciphering the Code. Keith Critchlow is the author of the 2011 book The Hidden Geometry of Flowers: Living Rhythms, Form and Number.
Star Tetrahedron: Ancient Wisdom
In this world gone mad, who will lead the way back to sanity and the way forward to survival? Who will know the path? It will not be academically-trained scientists who have accepted the current worldview. The pathfinders will be those who can think “outside the box”.
One example is David Jinks, author of The Monkey and the Tetrahedron, who says:
…my lack of a Harvard Ph.D. or similar prestigious credentials will no doubt preclude me, in many people’s eyes, from even ‘entering the discussion’ about what is and is not possible. I do not claim to be an expert in any field in particular; I am strictly an investigative writer….This known, some might ask what qualifies me to write about the great mysteries of life. That is a simple, direct question that deserves and equally simple and direct answer: I am living the great mystery called ‘life’ and I want to know what it’s all about!
An understanding of Sacred Geometry is key to understanding the connection between the physical world and the metaphysical world which powers it. In fact, this understanding is so key that the symbol for the link between the two worlds is encoded in many of the world’s religions and secret societies.
“Om” is often chanted by people who meditate. The science of Cymatics shows that saying “Om” forms the three-dimensional Star Tetrahedron. The two-dimensional form of this shape is the Star of David adopted by Judaism. The Star Tetrahedron is also represented in the symbol for the Fourth Chakra, the Sri Yantra, which is taught as part of the Chakra system in India. The Star Tetrahedron is also shown in a two-dimensional form in the symbol for Free Masonry.
So, the wisdom of Sacred Geometry is encoded in our cultures in several ways – but is not taught to the public. The video Divine Imprint//Cymatics and Sacred Geometry//Ancient Knowledge explains that this knowledge is known to a small number of people.
In the same way, Americans are not taught the meaning of the Kundalini, the symbol of Western medicine, which shows the energy rising through the chakras (as two snakes) until it reaches the Crown Chakra and produces Enlightenment. Egyptian pharaohs wore two snakes on their crowns to indicate their enlightenment. We are not taught about the importance of the Pineal Gland, the “Third Eye” which leads to Enlightenment when the all-important Melanin is released.
Western culture is the only major civilization for which Enlightenment has not been the goal of life. However, fortunately, the internet now allows each individual to choose to know more.
Hexagon: Nature’s Most Efficient Design
The hexagon forms the internal structure of the Star of David, as shown in red below. It is a six-sided figure which nature uses extensively because of its strength and economy.
The Message From Water by Massaru Emoto includes 165 photographs of water crystals from rivers and lakes around the world. The photos show that the purest, healthiest water forms the most complete hexagonal crystals.
What Is It About Bees And Hexagons explains: “It is a mathematical truth that there are only three geometrical figures with equal sides that can fit together on a flat surface without leaving gaps: equilateral triangles, squares and hexagons.” However, the hexagonal structure is the most compact and requires the least amount of wax. “The honeycomb is a masterpiece of engineering. It is absolutely perfect in economizing labor and wax.”
The video Behind the Beehive – The Code says that the precision of a honeycomb almost doesn’t look natural. It looks manufactured. The hexagonal array is the most efficient storage system the bees could have chosen. The video Why do honeybees love hexagons? provides the clearest explanation. Bees, wasps, and hornets choose this form for storage as it is the most energy efficient and has the greatest volume-to-area ratio.
Because of these properties, the hexagon is used in modern technology including in mirrors for optical telescopes, in the aerospace industry, and in heat panels for the space shuttles. The video Mathematics of the Honeycomb shows that the hexagon was chosen for the world’s largest grain elevator because it is the most economical and strongest design. Modern science has not been able to improve on the honeycomb. It has only confirmed it as the ideal structural shape. Galileo said that math is the language of the great book of nature. The video explains that “bionics” is the study of nature’s mathematics.
