How About a Teardrop Camper Made Entirely From LEGOs?

Lego camper

By Natural Blaze

Witness a record-breaking camper that took 12 professionals to construct in the UK last Fall.

Guinness World Records has certified the camper, made entirely out of little LEGO blocks, as the “largest caravan built from interlocking plastic bricks.” Nearly a quarter-million LEGOs make up the fully-functioning camper that can be easily hitched to a truck. While some of the items inside are decorative, the camper works in every way a typical camper does – even allowing for running water when powered up.

Created especially for the Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham’s NEC, the life-sized camper is based on the real ‘teardrop’ style caravan and includes everything from a sink with running water and electric lights to a bed, seating, a chess set and even pretend cooking facilities and fridge.

Chances are – building a LEGO camper is not a practical or economic option for family trips – at least not at this point in time. But as you can see below, it is now a possible option.

Did you know that LEGO is in the process of switching to non-oil-based plastics? That would be a much safer option, abeit about 15 years away. Who knows, maybe LEGO will break into the housing business.
