Mom Takes Daughter On Epic Round-The-World Trip For Heartwarming Reason

This mother decided to use her savings of AUD $30,000 to travel the world with her daughter because life is short, and because time spent with others is a worthwhile investment.

Life is short, and the hard-earned money most people covet won’t do anything to change this fact. Inevitably, you, your loved ones, and your kids and grandchildren will die. Such is a beautiful reality, however, as it can inspire someone to leave a better planet to those who will inherit it someday.

An individual on par with this attitude is mother Evie Farrell. Recently, the Sydney, Australia, resident’s close friend died of cancer at the age of 42. This epic wake-up call resulted in Evie deciding that she’d rather spend her AUD $30,000 savings on a road trip with her 5-year-old daughter, Emmie, than on a kitchen makeover.

“My girlfriend passed away from cancer,” Evie told Daily Mail Australia. “She was the most wonderful, gorgeous woman and she had two children. It was a big reminder to grab life and do everything while you can.”

The duo left Australia in February 2016 and so far, have traveled to Taiwan, Malaysian Borneo, Bali, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, London, Paris and China. Throughout the journey, Emmie has been learning through the NSW Distance Education Primary school program. Of course, the adventures both partake in are eye-opening and educational, as well.

The dynamic duo intends to return to Vietnam for a couple of months while Emmie continues her unconventional education and Evie finds work so they might continue traveling. Regardless of the financial obstacles, neither are ready to stop traveling and Evie, especially, is willing to do what it takes to ensure they can hold on to their unique lifestyle. She explains,

“I’ve learned this year that if you want something badly enough, you can make it happen. There’s more to life than sitting at a desk every day to earn money to buy stuff. We’ve travelled for a whole year with one backpack… and there’s no way I’m going back to my old way of life now.”

“I wouldn’t change our experiences for the world, though, and hopefully our life will inspire more mums and dads to go on an adventure with their children,” she adds.

Evie Farrell’s close friend died of cancer at 42, prompting her to go on a trip with her daughter.

But the trip didn’t end in February 2016.

In fact, it continues to this day!

Evie and Emmie, her five-year-old daughter, have visited Taiwan, Bali, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, London, and other destinations.

“It’s the best gift I could have given her and the best thing I could have done for myself, too,” says Evie.
